Great charity events have to combine the trifecta of event planning-fun, prestigious, and newsworthy-with being profitable. Even the best event planners know that coming in under budget is almost impossible, let alone coming in at a profit. Unless you’re a nightclub promoter charging thousands of dollars for table service, you’ve got to think outside the charity box.
One event we work with every year in the Hamptons has really got it together as far as their draw, their niche, and their night. The other three most important event elements. This CTREE event is the best silent auction shopping of the year-they get hundreds of donations from the whole town and they lay them out and let people mingle and she with wine and cheese and passed apps.
Their draw is the location, the exclusive, members-only Sagaponak Golf Course. It’s a fantastic club that not many people get to see and if you’re a golf fanatic, there’s always some rounds of golf in the silent auction to bid on.
Their niche is they are the most adorable and amazing Equine Therapy program that works year-round to help all types of people and children with special needs to get the opportunity to ride at Wolfer Stables, one of the most beautiful locations in all of the Hamptons-located right on the Wolfer Vineyards, home of the famous Summer in a Bottle Rosé.
And their night is the kick-off night for the Hamptons Classic. This brings out celebrities and horse lovers from across the globe.
Even their amazing auctioneer is from Wolfer-he’s their head sommelier moonlighting as the greatest auctioneer in history. It is a wonderful example of so many different people leaning in to support a marvelous cause.
