Have you ever been invited to an “influencer” party and wondered how much influence someone who hasn’t graduated college could possibly have? And then gone on to find out they have over a million people following their every move? Nothing will make you feel older than trying to figure out what an “experiential” event looks like. Isn’t it all an experience? You left the house right?
Lean into it. One of the best ways to attract attention and to create buzz on any platform is to create an installation or work with artists to do something people want to take pictures of, or in front of. Again, like we talked about with catering, maybe there’s a non-for-profit looking for some exposure that has an art angle that you can invite to collaborate.
You can use balloons, flowers, actual art or even lighting to create something photo-worthy. Add an on-site photographer posted up to help take those photos and a wire photographer to post them online and you’ll be making a lasting impression all over the internet.
Some people get really crazy with it, and go all the way-we love them. For example, check out what The Chicago Botanic does during their Orchid Festival-Orchids After Dark. Doesn’t it just sound sexy? It is. And it’s a great photo app and a great way to get people to a garden in the dead of winter for an unbelievable social media photo.
Some parties benefit from a NO social media policy (our favorite) but that’s a different post.
