I think Valerie’s first response to being asked to be in Buisnessweek was ‘I’m not sure I have any business being in Businessweek.”  But you don’t turn down Joel Stein because he’s just too funny and he does a weekly column for not only Businessweek but Time Magazine. Then she found out it was going to be about people who worked from the beach….something she felt she definitely was ‘major publication expert level’ and went all in.  If we mention a few clients, everybody wins. Having just moved the entire Sunset Boulevard office out to Malibu so she could be closer to her 5th grade daughter, this seems like a good way to reassure clients and potential clients that everything was beachy.  It worked.
